Julian Mason, Senior Project Manager

Julian is an essential member of Portadam's core team, which is rapidly expanding the business operations to the Southeast, Southwest and West Coast operations by applying Portadam's tried-and-true installation and fabrication techniques. Julian started constructing Portadams in the late 1970's, in England, with the inventor of the Portadam system. Much of the work took place in the ageing canals and lakes around the country. His move to the USA occurred in the early 1980's where his prior experience was an invaluable asset to Walker Diving who were constructing their first Portadam systems on the Shenandoah River in Front Royal Virginia. Throughout the years, Julian has tackled hundreds of varied and technically challenging Portadam installations. He is an experienced crew leader, has extensive knowledge of the manufacture of the Portadam components and has personally mentored each of our divers in the installation of Portadam's time-proven temporary cofferdam systems. Julian has experience in metallurgy where he worked as a metallurgical technician. Prior to this, he was a Medical laboratory technician in an English hospital. Julian earned a City and Guilds certificate in laboratory technology and an Ordinary National Certificate in medical laboratory science, both from colleges in England. When not traveling around North America, he is a keen home brewer.
